Gothic Homemaking Goes on Vacation!

Well, it was a good run! There were 12 brand new episodes of Gothic Homemaking every single week (Wednesdays at 1pm EST) since the launch of Season 5 on April 1st, 2020! Even through the lockdown, new episodes were coming out thanks to the bulk of filming that had taken place before the pandemic took hold. However, in time that footage was exhausted and Gothic Homemaking became the latest victim of the lockdown. Hence, Gothic Homemaking will be going on a brief hiatus through the month of July to regroup, replan and finally get out there and shoot some new episodes once it's deemed safe to do so. Gothic Homemaking is expected to return the first week of August and it's our hope that we will be able to pick up on our original goal of there being a new episode every Wednesday until the end of the year. Wish us luck!!! And see you in August!

In the meanwhile, you can check out the most recent episode of Gothic Homemaking here:

GOTHIC HOMEMAKING IS BACK WITH EPISODE TEN~ "Birds of a Feather."

It's Thanksgiving and what better way to celebrate the day people are home stuffing a bird, then to go on a world-wide search for taxidermied ravens???

Aurelio Voltaire goes in search of taxidermied ravens while a werewolf threatens to break out of the Lair's closet! In this episode, Aurelio Voltaire travels to the ends of the world looking for a stuffed raven for the Lair. In an attempt to create a "dark aviary, he visits curiosity shops and taxidermy stores from Australia to Houston, Nashville and beyond, running into friends along the way like Australian model, Ree Ree Phillips, JD Tucker, Jackson Bennett and other purveyors of the macabre. As usual, Voltaire also presents many other raven inspired "vegan options" with which to decorate your lair for those who do not care for taxidermy. Artists Abigail Larson and Stephanie Inagaki's corvid-filled artworks are featured.

UPDATE:

Well, apparently the April 1st release date must have been an April fool's joke after all. We are in full swing producing this show, but as should have been imagined, it's taking much longer than expected. For one, the episodes, which were intended to be around ten minutes long are now around twenty five minutes long each! They are now slightly longer than the length of the average half hour television show (minus commercials)!!! And they are crammed with content. The goal is to have six episodes finished before we launch to insure you at least six weeks of consecutive new episodes once it hits the internet. Presently, there are two finished episodes. We are now working on episode three and there is already tons and tons of footage for other episodes (shot everywhere from Los Angeles to Leipzig, Germany!) that still need to be weaved into the narrative and edited into their respective episodes. We are very grateful for your patience and want you to know that we're working tirelessly to make this a show that will be worth the wait. Presently, the optimistic launch date is September 1st, 2016.
Wish us luck!

Gothic Homemaking web series in production!

After a successful Indiegogo campaign that raised nearly twice its funding goal, Aurelio Voltaire has begun production of a new web series called Gothic Homemaking. This series, which takes its cues from the book penned by Voltaire several years ago, Paint it Black: a Guide to Gothic Homemaking, is in Voltaire's words intended to be "informative but hilarious." Like the book, the show will demonstrate how to turn ordinary objects into macabre object du art, with a heavy emphasis on sourcing all of the best Gothic furniture, taxidermy and other macabre furnishings. Through it all, expect Voltaire's tongue in cheek approach and the acerbic and dry retorts of his desiccated co-host, Orville Deadenbacher. The show will stream on Voltaire's youtube page: www.youtube.com/voltairemusicpage . With over 52,000 subscribers and over ten million channel views to date, it's sure to have a healthy audience of macabre enthusiasts.

No release date is set as of yet, but word on the street is that the production team is eyeing an April 1st launch for the first episode. And that's no joke!
